Copas, meaning cup in Spanish, is a minimalist residence located in Valle de Bravo, a popular weekend getaway destination near Mexico City. The project’s main objective is to understand and respect nature, fully integrating the spaces into the wooded atmosphere of the site.
The open upper floor connects directly to the treetops, elements that give essence to the project and create views throughout the house.
The residence adapts to the natural topography of the site by absorbing the slope and having minimal excavation. The public spaces were chosen to be elevated one level above the ground, introducing a series of platforms that can be experienced in a variety of ways along with nature.
On the other hand, the first floor houses the bedrooms, guaranteeing the privacy and tranquility needed in these areas. The concept of this house is reminiscent of climbing a mountain. As you ascend, you discover the breathtaking views.
